We make cookie dough – edible cookie dough. (People often ask us – isn’t all cookie dough edible? Well, no, but that’s another story 😊)
Waaaaay back in the fall of 2018, Descendants reached out to us to find out more about our products and it’s hard to express how excited we were. We started this company in January 2018 and one of the top things on our to-do list was to work with a brewery on a dough/beer partnership of some type. Along comes this email and it took us a total of 6 minutes to hit send on a reply.
We’ve developed a great partnership with Descendants, providing edible cookie dough for their regular patrons as part of the dessert menu (did you know it’s a well known fact that eating cookie dough improves your trivia scores??), as well as for special events. Most recently, a bride and groom who clearly had their guests’ enjoyment upmost in their minds, ordered a late night Crumby Cookie dough bar for their wedding reception at the brewery. And this is where we revisit the dough-and-beer / match-made-in-heaven scenario.
Descendants approached in the spring us to let us know that they were brewing up a Toasted Coconut Pineapple Stout and wanted to know if we’d be interested in creating a custom cookie dough using this new amazing beer. Um. Yes. Yes is the answer to that question in case you’re wondering.
We played with using the new beer in a couple of different recipes. It seemed to work best in our testing with our vegan cookie dough. We typically use rice milk in this recipe but replacing it with some beer was a great way to start this flavour off. We saw no reason to mess with the pineapple and coconut flavours, so we pulled out a favourite Roasted Pineapple recipe, mixed in some toasted coconut….and christened our new dough as Resting Beach Face 😊 A delicious (and vegan!) tropical tasting limited edition dough !
