St. Patrick's Day at Descendants

St. Patrick's Day at Descendants

March 6, 2018

We are so excited for our St. Patrick's Day Party this year! We're opening our doors at 11:00am for a day jam packed with Irish celebrations!

Inside we'll be serving up amazing craft beers, Irish inspired cocktails whiskey and more green decor than you can imagine!

This year we are bringing our St. Patrick's Day celebrations outside. That's right - we've licensed our parking lot and we're going to pitch a giant heated tent for all of your partying needs! The tent will have its own bar serving up Irish beer and we'll have an epic Irish playlist for you to jig to all day long.

We'll be welcoming epic local food trucks to serve up delicious eats. Our friends from Fo' Cheezey Food Truck and Sub Shack will serve their specialties to make sure your bellies are filled all day long.

Plus - We'll be releasing four Irish beers just for St. Patrick's Day including a very special Irish Red Ale that has been barrel aged for an entire year in a whiskey barrel! We will also be re-releasing our Three Irish Hughs, back by popular demand, Red Hugh II Irish Red Ale, Hugh O'Donnell Irish Cream Ale and Hugh O'Neill Irish Imperial Stout. We'll also have a selection of Descendants staples and guest taps so there will be a beer option for everyone.

Inside we'll have live music throughout the day. We are so excited to welcome three incredible musical acts to get you into the Irish spirit all day long. Starting at 11:00am we will welcome the incredibly talented Steve Hogg.

Signed to a major label at 19, Steve has spent the better part of his career touring the world. He calls Kitchener his home and we couldn't be happier to bring him to play at Descendants. Come on out to hear a great man with a great voice.

From 2:00pm - 6:00pm enjoy music from Celtic - Canadian trio Failte.

Failte originated from a casual collection of musicians in the Autumn of 1991 in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. Failte (pronounced "fall-cha") means welcome in Irish. Currently, the group consists of original member, Stephen Todd (vocals, bodhran, and tin whistle) as well as Jessica Weiler (fiddle, vocals), and Brian Crozier (guitar, vocals). Stephen and Brian are originally from Northern Ireland. The band plays traditional Celtic music with a Canadian attitude. Set lists include slow airs, ballads, jigs and reels from Ireland, Scotland and Canada. Failte can be heard playing at pubs, weddings, ceilidhs, and festivals throughout Southern Ontario.

To keep you partying throughout the evening we've got Thorn and Roses to serenade you from 7:00pm - 11:00pm.

Recently nominated for CBC Music's Searchlight Competition and aiming for a place in the top-10, Thorn and Roses is here to keep the party going! The group is a three piece amalgamation of powerful vocals and intricate instrumentation. This trio features a blend of uncompromising three part harmonies, unique arrangements of country, classic rock and pop standards, and an energy so abundant it promises to have audience members on their feet from the first note to the very last.

So come on down to Descendants Beer & Beverage Co. and join us for the Kitchener's most memorable St. Patrick's Day Party. Green suits, leprechaun costumes, shamrocks are highly encouraged!
